Unipile plans, in the vendor's words

PlanPriceIncluded
7-day free trialNo charge for 7 daysNo credit card required. The homepage FAQ says the trial includes all features, with no monthly charges or commitments. No free plan and no free credits are listed; paying starts at the €49.00 monthly minimum.
Up to 10 linked accounts€49.00/mo minimum ($55.00/mo in USD)A flat monthly minimum: “Minimum 49.00 € per month, includes up to 10 accounts.” One linked account costs the same as ten. The vendor says every tier includes unlimited API calls and requests.
11–50 linked accounts€5.00 per linked account/mo ($5.50 per linked account/mo in USD)Past 10, the rate applies to every linked account, not only to the extra ones: 11 accounts cost €55.00 a month ($60.50) and 50 cost €250.00 ($275.00).
51–200 linked accounts€4.50 per linked account/mo ($5.00 per linked account/mo in USD)The vendor’s own example: 60 linked accounts billed at €4.50 each, €270 a month ($300.00 at the USD rate). Because the lower rate covers every account, 51 accounts (€229.50) cost less than 50 (€250.00).
201–1,000 linked accounts€4.00 per linked account/mo ($4.50 per linked account/mo in USD)Every linked account at this rate: 500 accounts cost €2,000.00 a month ($2,250.00).
1,001–5,000 linked accounts€3.50 per linked account/mo ($4.00 per linked account/mo in USD)Every linked account at this rate: 2,000 accounts cost €7,000.00 a month ($8,000.00).
5,001+ linked accounts€3.00 per linked account/mo ($3.50 per linked account/mo in USD) in the calculatorThe same page says to contact Unipile for custom pricing beyond 5,000 accounts. Prices on every tier exclude VAT.

How these numbers are verified

  1. We open Unipile's own pricing page, unipile.com/pricing-api, and record prices, plan names and the free plan as written, with the date.
  2. A vendor's correction or a reader's report changes nothing until an editor has checked it.
  3. Scores and rankings are editorial: vendors cannot buy them or correct them.
  4. After 30 days without a new reading, this page stops calling the facts verified (the page is rebuilt daily).

Editor's verdict

updated

“Unipile is a unified messaging, email and calendar API, not a social publishing tool, and should be judged as one. For a SaaS product or AI agent that has to read and send LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram and Telegram messages next to Gmail, Outlook and calendar events, it brings one REST API, webhooks, Node.js and Python SDKs, a hosted MCP server and machine-readable docs, at a published per-account price with unlimited API calls (per the vendor): €49.00 a month ($55.00) for up to 10 linked accounts, then €5.00 down to €3.00 per account. The trade-offs are serious. By its own pricing FAQ, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Instagram run through reverse engineering while other pages say “No Scraping”, it is not a Meta Partner, and its v1 provider-limits doc tells developers they can ignore Instagram’s automated-behavior warning. Publishing reaches only LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook, with no scheduling field, no ads endpoints and no X. There is no free plan, the Terms count disconnected accounts and allow data deletion when an invoice is 15 days unpaid, and several of its pages contradict each other. Use the 7-day trial on the providers you need, read the Terms, and choose a posting API from the comparison if publishing posts is the job.”

Best for

  • SaaS products whose users send and receive LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram and Telegram messages from inside the product
  • Sales, recruiting and CRM tools that need LinkedIn Classic, Sales Navigator, Recruiter and Company Page inboxes next to Gmail and Outlook
  • Developers building AI agents that read and answer messages, email and calendar events, with a hosted MCP server for coding agents

Watch out for

  • Its own pages disagree on how it connects: the pricing FAQ says LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Instagram work “through reverse engineering”, while the REST API page and the homepage claim “No Scraping”
  • Not a Meta Partner and, by its own statement, not officially endorsed by LinkedIn or Instagram; its v1 provider-limits doc says developers can ignore Instagram’s automated-behavior warning and keep automating (the v2 version has no Instagram section)

What Unipile is

Unipile sells an API, not an app. Its homepage headline is “Unified API for Messaging, Email & Scheduling”, and the line beneath it reads: “Integrate our email and messaging APIs to enable your users to converse directly through LinkedIn, Gmail, and WhatsApp”. The page is built around four APIs: a Social Media API (LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook: “Retrieve profiles, publish posts, comment and react on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.”), a Messaging API (LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram and Telegram), an Email API (Gmail, Outlook and IMAP) and a Calendar API (Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar). The customer is a software team: a SaaS product whose users should message, email and manage calendar events from inside it, or a developer building an AI agent that does the same. Unipile says most teams go live in just two days.

The “Scheduling” in that headline means calendar events, not scheduled social posts. The homepage lists a calendar scheduler as coming soon, and the API’s Create a Post request has no field for a publishing time (see below). If your job is publishing and scheduling posts across many networks, Unipile is the wrong shape; if it is two-way conversations on LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram and email, it is built for that.

The publisher is UNIPILE SAS, registered with the RCS of Roanne, France, under number 885265595, with its head office in Riorges and a share capital of €235,452.80. Its team page names Julien Crepieux as CEO and co-founder and Arnaud Hartmann as CTO and co-founder. Unipile’s customer figures disagree with each other: the homepage says “Trusted by 6,000+ SaaS Platforms”, the team page says “4000+ companies”, and the pricing page says “6000+ Companies Innovating with Unipile” while its cohort chart covers “3,000+ clients”. All are the vendor’s own claims, and we do not pick one.

What the API covers

Unipile developer documentation, v2.0 API Reference, Create a Post page: POST https://api.unipile.com/v2/{account_id}/posts, “Creates a new post.” and “Multipart supported, refer to Sending Files.”, a Recent Requests table reading 0 Requests This Month, an account_id path parameter (string, required) and body parameters text (string, required) and attachments. The sidebar lists API Usage, Error responses, Caching, Rate limit and Event types, Hosted Auth and Custom Auth, and the Messaging, Users, Emails, Calendar and Posts method groups, with Posts expanded; its visible entries are List all User’s Posts, List all User Reactions, Get a Post, Delete a Post, Create a Post and Create a Story, and the list continues below the crop. On the right are Node, Python and Shell tabs, an X-API-KEY header field, a Node request sample that starts npm install unipile, creates a UnipilePosts client and calls its createPost method with the text Hello, world!, and a 201 response returning a Post object
Screenshot of developer.unipile.com/v2.0/reference/createpost, taken .

Messaging is the core. The API lists chats and messages, sends messages, syncs history and handles reactions, read receipts, attachments and voice notes across WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram and Telegram. On LinkedIn it reaches four inboxes: Classic, Sales Navigator, Recruiter and Company Page. Email covers Gmail, Outlook and IMAP, with open and click tracking on mail sent through the API, and the calendar side covers Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar.

The pricing page lists 9 integrations (LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Gmail, Outlook, IMAP, Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar) and marks X and Messenger “Coming soon”. Facebook is where the vendor’s pages disagree: the pricing FAQ names only WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram and Telegram for messaging, but the site navigation tags Facebook “New” for Pages, posts and Messenger, the homepage FAQ includes it, and the docs say “Facebook Messenger is deprecated in v1 and available in v2.” The public status page lists no Facebook component. The docs say X/Twitter support is coming soon in v2, and no page we read mentions TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky or Google Business.

Publishing is a small part of the product. In API v2, creating, updating and deleting a post is implemented for LinkedIn (Classic), Instagram and Facebook, and creating a Story for Instagram only. The Create a Post request body (OpenAPI version 2.65.1) accepts text, attachments, can_read, can_comment, quoted_post_id, post_as and specifics, and has no field for a scheduled time, so a product that queues posts would have to hold them and call the API when each should go out. The v2 docs index has no post-analytics or ads endpoints: reaction counts come back inside the post object, reactions, comments and comment reactions have their own list endpoints, and LinkedIn profile views have their own guide. Unipile’s Social Media API page, however, lists “Post Analytics” among its LinkedIn search and enrichment capabilities; the two do not match, and we report both.

Webhooks push events to your server. In API v2 a webhook endpoint can receive every event type, and the types include message.new, message.update, message.delete, message.reaction.new and message.receipt.read for messaging, with chat.update and chat.delete; email.new, email.new.bounce and email.delete for mail, with tracking.open and tracking.click for opens and link clicks on tracked emails; calendar.event.new, calendar.event.update and calendar.event.delete; and relation.new and follower.new, for which, on LinkedIn, the event-types reference says “there may be delays of up to 6 hours”. Account events (account.add, account.remove, account.status.disconnected and others) report connection changes. The pricing page still lists the v1 names: message_received, message_reaction, message_read and account_status; mail_received, mail_sent, mail_moved, mail_opened and mail_link_clicked; calendar_event_created, calendar_event_updated and calendar_event_deleted; and new_relation, which it says “is checked periodically and can arrive a few hours after the acceptance.” These are the names the v1 docs use (the v1 Tracking email page’s mail_opened and mail_link_clicked; the v2 migration guide calls the click event mail_clicked). The v2 migration guide marks mail_sent, mail_received and mail_moved as removed and says to use email.new and check the folder instead.

Pricing: per linked account, with a €49 monthly minimum

Unipile pricing page under a ONE SIMPLE OFFER label: the headline “Pay as you Go. No Commitment” and the line “Pricing is based on the number of connected accounts, with no usage-based fees.” A How many accounts? calculator is set to 11 to 50 connected accounts on a slider marked Up to 10, 11-50, 51-200, 201-1K, 1K-5K and 5K+, and shows $5.50 /account/month with $ USD selected on the € EUR / $ USD toggle. A What’s included list reads One API. All channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Email, WhatsApp, Telegram…), Full API access (All endpoints, Google CASA Tier 2 included), Unlimited usage (Only provider limits apply) and 7-day free trial (No credit card required), above a Build Now button and the line Cancel anytime • No credit card required. Cards below offer a Call with Founders and Live Support
Screenshot of unipile.com/pricing-api, taken .

Unipile’s pricing page is headed “Pay as you Go. No Commitment” and says “Pricing is based on the number of connected accounts, with no usage-based fees.” The minimum is €49.00 a month, $55.00 in the page’s USD view, and it includes up to 10 linked accounts. Above 10, the rate for your volume applies to every linked account, not only to the accounts above a threshold: €5.00 ($5.50) per account a month for 11–50, €4.50 ($5.00) for 51–200, €4.00 ($4.50) for 201–1,000, €3.50 ($4.00) for 1,001–5,000 and €3.00 ($3.50) above 5,000, where the page also invites you to ask for custom pricing. A Google or Microsoft account’s mailbox and its calendars count as one linked account. Prices exclude VAT.

The vendor says every tier includes “Unlimited API calls and requests”, with no fee per message, per call or per channel, and every provider costs the same. Billing is post-paid and based on the peak number of accounts linked at the same time. The pricing FAQ says “invoices are generated at the end of each 30-day period”, while the Terms of Use say “Billing occurs at the end of each monthly period.” We report both. The only toggle on the page switches the currency between EUR and USD; there is no annual billing option.

Worked examples from the published rates, per billing period: anything from one to 10 linked accounts costs €49.00 ($55.00); 11 cost €55.00 ($60.50); 50 cost €250.00 ($275.00); the vendor’s own example, 60 accounts, costs €270.00 ($300.00 at the USD rate); and 500 cost €2,000.00 ($2,250.00). Because the lower rate covers every account, crossing a threshold can lower the bill: 51 accounts (€229.50) cost less than 50 (€250.00), and 201 (€804.00) less than 200 (€900.00).

Read the Terms of Use before you connect test accounts. They say: “All accounts displayed on the dashboard homepage are included in the calculation, regardless of their status (e.g., OK, Error, Disconnected).” If an invoice is not paid within 15 days, the Terms let Unipile suspend every service on the account and delete all related data without prior notice, and they add: “If payment remains outstanding after 30 days, Unipile will permanently delete all data associated with the user account.” A separate termination clause says that, except for serious or urgent breaches requiring immediate action, Unipile will give written notice before termination. There is no free plan and there are no free credits; the way in is a 7-day free trial with no credit card, which the homepage FAQ says includes all features.

SDKs, MCP server and documentation

The v2 docs list official Node.js and Python SDKs, and both READMEs say “This SDK is only for Unipile API v2 (BETA)”, although the v1 getting-started page recommends v2 for anyone starting a new integration. Unipile’s Terms of Use say features identified as beta are provided “as-is”, without warranties, and “may not be fully tested or ready for production use”. The Node SDK is published on npm as @unipile/sdk, at version 2.65.1; the Python SDK “is not published on PyPI yet”, so it installs from GitHub. The older v1 Node SDK, unipile-node-sdk, is at version 1.9.3 on npm; its GitHub LICENSE file reads “The MIT License (MIT)”, while its package.json and its npm listing say ISC. For teams that wire things together without code, the v2 docs cover n8n, Make and Zapier.

For AI coding agents, Unipile hosts an MCP server. Its AI-agent page gives setup steps for Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI and Windsurf, plus any client that speaks Streamable HTTP, and shows four tools “generated from the Unipile OpenAPI spec”: list-specs, list-endpoints, get-endpoint and execute-request. The v2 MCP doc lists nine: those four plus get-request-body, get-response-schema, list-security-schemes, search-specs and get-code-snippet; its setup tabs cover Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Codex / ChatGPT desktop. Without a key it runs in docs-only mode, so an agent can read the API reference while you build; with a scoped Account API key it can make requests. The vendor sums up the split as “MCP to Build, REST to Run”.

The documentation itself is easy for tools to read: it publishes an OpenAPI specification, llms.txt indexes for v1 and v2, an update date on every docs page and a dated changelog, whose latest entry was v2.20261104.1 when we read it. Two versions run side by side. New integrations are steered to v2, v1 is not deprecated, and “V1 and V2 accounts are separate”, so pick one before you build.

How it reaches LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Instagram

This is the part to read before you build. Unipile’s pricing FAQ says: “For LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Instagram, Unipile operates through reverse engineering.” Email, calendar and Telegram use official APIs, per the same FAQ. Its REST API page, by contrast, promises “Direct API Access, No Scraping”, and a homepage card is headed “No Scraping”. The pages do not explain how the two statements fit together, so we report both and treat neither as fact.

Unipile says it is not a Meta Partner and is not officially endorsed by LinkedIn or Instagram. Unipile’s developer-protection page says proxies are automatically enabled for LinkedIn, Instagram and WhatsApp; its v2 Proxies doc, updated November 4, 2026, lists Facebook as well. It claims the providers cannot detect it; that is the vendor’s claim, not something we can check. On Instagram’s warning that it suspects automated behavior on an account, its v1 provider-limits doc, updated August 28, 2026, tells developers: “You can ignore this message and continue using automation”; the v2 version of that doc, updated August 5, 2026, has no Instagram section. The accounts that do the sending are your users’ own LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Instagram accounts, so check each provider’s terms before you put them behind this API.

Rate limits are a second conflict. The pricing FAQ says “Unipile does not enforce any limits on your usage”, and the developer-protection page marks Smart Rate Limiting “Coming Soon”. The v2 Rate Limits doc, updated October 27, 2026, says “Unipile enforces its own rate limiting at the Methods API level”, rejects requests over the limit with 429 api/too_many_requests and allows up to two time windows per rule. Its provider-limits docs also differ by version. The v1 doc calls its LinkedIn figures “conservative recommendations”: a paid, active account can send 80 to 100 invitations a day and about 200 a week, retrieve about 100 profiles a day (“it’s a recommendation; we don’t limit your requests”), and other actions default to 100 a day; on Instagram, at most 100 actions a day and 10 an hour. The v2 doc has no Instagram section and gives LinkedIn ranges per account per day: 80 to 100 invitations for a paid, active account (about 200 a week), 80 to 100 profile retrievals, 80 to 100 post retrievals, 80 to 100 comments or reactions and 100 to 150 messages, and it says “Exceeding these quotas will prompt an error from our API”.

Security, hosting and uptime

Per the vendor, all data is hosted in France on Scaleway and OVHcloud and encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, Unipile holds CASA Tier II, and it acts as a data processor under the GDPR, with a DPA on request. A security FAQ adds that the DPA lists optional non-EU routing proxies.

Its pages describe SOC 2 in different words. The security page says Unipile is SOC 2 Type II certified. The pricing FAQ says its infrastructure and processes are “aligned with SOC 2 requirements” and that “The SOC 2 certification audit is completed, with official compliance confirmation effective October 19, 2025.” The report is available on request; we have not seen it.

Unipile claims 99.9% platform uptime over the last 24 months. Its public status page shows a major outage affecting customers hosted on server api46, logged as 13 hours, that began on November 3, 2026 and was resolved on November 4; the page attributes it to a hardware failure on that server. In the 90 days before we read it on November 6, 2026, the same page also lists two other incidents on its own service: degraded real-time sync for part of the accounts on its v2 beta, affecting the API, from September 24 to September 25 (logged as 17 hours), which it puts down to an infrastructure component run by one of its cloud providers, and API-4 unavailable on August 20 (logged as 1 hour; Dashboard, Account and API affected), which it also puts down to a hardware failure. Its incidents for Instagram (October 7 to 8) and LinkedIn search (August 9 to 17) followed changes on those networks, and the WhatsApp one (August 17) an outage at a third-party service it depends on.

Who Unipile fits, and who should look elsewhere

Unipile fits software teams whose users work in their inboxes: sales, recruiting and CRM products that need LinkedIn (including Sales Navigator and Recruiter), WhatsApp, Instagram and Telegram conversations next to Gmail, Outlook and calendars, through one API with webhooks. AI agent builders get a hosted MCP server and machine-readable docs. The bill is predictable per linked account, with unlimited API calls per the vendor, and the vendor says all data is hosted in France.

Look elsewhere if your job is publishing: Unipile posts only to LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook, has no scheduled-time field, no ads endpoints and no X, and the posting APIs in the comparison below are built for that. Look elsewhere too if you need connections to LinkedIn, Instagram or WhatsApp through their official APIs, given what its pricing FAQ says about reverse engineering. And for one or two accounts, the €49.00 ($55.00) monthly minimum is a high floor, with no free plan below it.

The catches

We could not check Unipile against a third-party score: G2’s page blocked our reader, we found no Unipile listing on Capterra, and Trustpilot has no reviews to score. When we looked on November 6, 2026, Trustpilot’s review address for unipile.com first returned HTTP 404 and the first page of a Trustpilot search for “unipile” showed no Unipile result; after we searched Trustpilot for the domain, the same address showed an unclaimed profile with 0 reviews and the line “This company hasn’t received any reviews yet.”

Unipile’s own pages contradict each other on several points: on how it connects to LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Instagram (reverse engineering against “No Scraping”), on rate limits, on Facebook and Messenger, on how it describes SOC 2, on customer counts (6,000+, 4000+ and 3,000+), on endpoint counts (“500+ Endpoints” on the homepage, 100+ in the site navigation and “+100 Endpoints” on the pricing page), on whether invoices come every 30 days or every month, on “Post Analytics”, which its Social Media API page lists but its docs have no endpoint for, and on the v1 Node SDK’s license (MIT on GitHub, ISC on npm). Where they conflict, this review reports both sides.

The commercial terms are strict: a €49.00 monthly minimum after the trial, every account on the dashboard counted even when it is in error or disconnected, and a Terms clause that allows suspension and deletion of data without prior notice when an invoice is 15 days unpaid, followed by permanent deletion of all data once payment is 30 days outstanding.

Strengths

  • One API for messaging (LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram), email (Gmail, Outlook, IMAP) and calendars (Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar), with webhooks for messages, mail and calendar events
  • Public pricing with a calculator in EUR and USD; the vendor says every tier includes unlimited API calls, with no per-message, per-call or per-channel fee
  • Volume rates apply to every linked account, from €5.00 down to €3.00 ($5.50 to $3.50) a month, and a Google or Microsoft mailbox and its calendars count as one account
  • Four LinkedIn inboxes: Classic, Sales Navigator, Recruiter and Company Page
  • Documentation built for tools as well as people: an OpenAPI spec, llms.txt indexes for v1 and v2, an update date on each docs page and a dated changelog
  • Official Node.js and Python SDKs, whose READMEs say they are only for “Unipile API v2 (BETA)”, a hosted MCP server with setup steps for Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, ChatGPT desktop and Gemini CLI across its docs and AI-agent page, and guides for n8n, Make and Zapier
  • Open and click tracking on emails sent through the API
  • 7-day free trial that the vendor says includes all features, with no credit card

  • Thin for publishing: v2 posts only to LinkedIn (Classic), Instagram and Facebook, the Create a Post request has no scheduled-time field, there are no ads endpoints, and X is “coming soon”
  • No free plan: after the 7-day trial the minimum is €49.00 a month ($55.00), even for one linked account
  • Strict billing terms: every account on the dashboard counts, including those in Error or Disconnected status, and the Terms allow suspension and deletion of data without prior notice when an invoice is 15 days unpaid, and permanent deletion of all data once payment is 30 days outstanding
  • More conflicting vendor statements: rate limits, Facebook Messenger support, SOC 2 wording, customer counts (6,000+, 4000+, 3,000+), endpoint counts (500+ vs 100+), the billing period (30 days vs monthly), “Post Analytics” with no analytics endpoint in the docs, and the v1 Node SDK’s license (MIT vs ISC)
  • No third-party score to check: G2 blocked our reader, Trustpilot’s profile has 0 reviews, and we found no Unipile listing on Capterra

Key features

FeatureWhat it does
Messaging APIList chats and messages, send messages, sync history, reactions, read receipts, attachments and voice notes across WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram and Telegram. On LinkedIn it covers the Classic, Sales Navigator, Recruiter and Company Page inboxes.
Email APIGmail, Outlook and IMAP. Open and click tracking can be turned on for an email sent through the API, and a webhook reports each open or link click. A Google or Microsoft mailbox and its calendars count as one linked account.
Calendar APIGoogle Calendar and Outlook Calendar events, with webhooks when an event is created, updated or deleted. The homepage lists a calendar scheduler as coming soon.
Posts (API v2)Create, update and delete posts on LinkedIn (Classic), Instagram and Facebook; Stories on Instagram only. The Create a Post body takes text, attachments, can_read, can_comment, quoted_post_id, post_as and specifics, with no scheduled-time field. Reaction counts come back inside the post object, and reactions, comments and comment reactions have their own list endpoints. The v2 docs index has no post-analytics or ads endpoints, although Unipile’s Social Media API page lists “Post Analytics” among its LinkedIn search and enrichment capabilities.
WebhooksIn API v2 one webhook endpoint can receive every event type. The types include message.new, message.update, message.delete, message.reaction.new and message.receipt.read, chat.update and chat.delete; email.new, email.new.bounce and email.delete, with tracking.open and tracking.click for opens and link clicks; calendar.event.new, calendar.event.update and calendar.event.delete; relation.new and follower.new, which the event-types reference says can be delayed up to 6 hours on LinkedIn; and account events such as account.add, account.remove and account.status.disconnected. The pricing page still lists the v1 names (message_received, mail_received, mail_sent, mail_moved, calendar_event_created, new_relation and others); the v2 migration guide marks mail_sent, mail_received and mail_moved as removed and points to email.new instead.
MCP serverHosted MCP server for coding agents. Unipile’s AI-agent page gives setup steps for Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI and Windsurf, and any other client over Streamable HTTP, and shows four tools “generated from the Unipile OpenAPI spec”: list-specs, list-endpoints, get-endpoint and execute-request. The v2 MCP doc lists nine, adding get-request-body, get-response-schema, list-security-schemes, search-specs and get-code-snippet, and its setup tabs cover Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Codex / ChatGPT desktop. Without a key it runs in docs-only mode; with a scoped Account API key it can call the API. The vendor’s line is “MCP to Build, REST to Run”.
SDKs and no-codeThe v2 docs list official Node.js and Python SDKs, and both READMEs say they are “only for Unipile API v2 (BETA)”. The Node SDK is on npm as @unipile/sdk (version 2.65.1); the Python SDK “is not published on PyPI yet” and installs from GitHub. The older v1 Node SDK, unipile-node-sdk, is at version 1.9.3 on npm; its GitHub LICENSE file says MIT, while its package.json and npm listing say ISC. The v2 docs also cover n8n, Make and Zapier.
Provider proxiesUnipile’s developer-protection page says proxies are automatically enabled for LinkedIn, Instagram and WhatsApp; its v2 Proxies doc, updated November 4, 2026, lists Facebook as well. It also claims providers cannot detect it; that is the vendor’s claim, which we cannot check.
DocumentationOpenAPI specification, llms.txt indexes for v1 and v2, an update date on each docs page and a dated changelog (latest entry v2.20261104.1 when we read it). v1 and v2 need separate accounts; new integrations are steered to v2, and v1 is not deprecated.

How Unipile compares

AlternativeHow it differs
AyrshareReviewed separately. Weigh it if your product needs to publish rather than converse: Unipile’s v2 Create a Post has no scheduled-time field, posts only to LinkedIn (Classic), Instagram and Facebook, and lists X/Twitter as coming soon.
Upload-PostReviewed separately. Compare network reach for publishing: no Unipile page we read mentions TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky or Google Business, and its posting endpoints cover LinkedIn (Classic), Instagram and Facebook.
PostizReviewed separately. Compare the cost of starting small: Unipile lists no free plan or free credits, only a 7-day trial, and then charges a €49.00 ($55.00) monthly minimum even for one linked account.
BlotatoReviewed separately. Compare what comes back after posting: Unipile’s v2 docs have no post-analytics or ads endpoints; reaction counts come inside the post object, and individual reactions and comments have their own list endpoints. Its Social Media API page nonetheless lists “Post Analytics” for LinkedIn.
PublerReviewed separately. Compare how each reaches Instagram: Unipile says it is not a Meta Partner, and its pricing FAQ says Instagram works through reverse engineering, while its REST API page claims “No Scraping”.
ZernioAlso an API priced per connected account per month in USD, but with a free start: its pricing page says “2 accounts free to start, no credit card”, and its pricing docs describe those 2 accounts as “a $12 monthly credit”. After them it charges $6 per connected account a month for accounts 3–10, $3 for 11–100 and $1 from 101, graduated so each account bills at the rate of its own band, with “Every feature included, no plans, no seats.” It is usage-based with a card on file once past the free accounts: X API calls are passed through at X’s published rate, DMs are metered after the first 10,000 sent a month, and each WhatsApp number counts as an account plus a number fee. Its homepage leads with POST /v1/posts and says “Sixteen networks, one API” (its footer’s Social list has 12), and a banner announces Google and Microsoft APIs for email, calendar, files and contacts. Unipile lists no free plan or free credits, only a 7-day trial ($55.00 a month covers up to 10 linked accounts; from 11 to 50, every linked account is billed at $5.50 in its USD view) and publishes only to LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. Zernio lists Unipile among its own comparisons.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Unipile cost?

Unipile bills per linked account per month, in EUR or USD. The minimum is €49.00 a month ($55.00 in the USD view) for up to 10 linked accounts. Above 10, every linked account is billed at its tier’s rate: €5.00 ($5.50) for 11–50, €4.50 ($5.00) for 51–200, €4.00 ($4.50) for 201–1,000, €3.50 ($4.00) for 1,001–5,000 and €3.00 ($3.50) above 5,000, where the page also offers custom pricing. Billing is post-paid on the peak number of accounts linked at the same time: the pricing FAQ says invoices come at the end of each 30-day period, the Terms of Use at the end of each monthly period. Prices exclude VAT. The vendor’s own example: 60 linked accounts cost €270 a month.

Is there a free plan or a free trial?

There is a 7-day free trial with no credit card; the homepage FAQ says it includes all features, with no monthly charges or commitments. No free plan and no free credits are listed, so after the trial the lowest charge is the €49.00 ($55.00) monthly minimum, which covers up to 10 linked accounts.

Does Unipile charge per API call or per message?

Not according to its pricing page: “Unlimited API calls and requests on every tier. No per-message, per-call or per-channel fee.” Its list of what is included says only provider limits apply. The pricing FAQ also says Unipile “does not enforce any limits on your usage”, but the v2 Rate Limits doc, updated October 27, 2026, says Unipile enforces its own rate limits and rejects requests over them with 429 api/too_many_requests. The two pages conflict; plan for 429 responses.

Which platforms does Unipile support?

The pricing page lists 9 integrations: LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Gmail, Outlook, IMAP, Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar, with X and Messenger marked “Coming soon”. Facebook is a conflict: the site navigation tags Facebook “New” for Pages, posts and Messenger, the homepage FAQ includes it, and the docs say Messenger is available in v2, while the pricing page still lists Messenger as coming soon and the status page has no Facebook component. The docs say X/Twitter support is coming soon in v2. No page we read mentions TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky or Google Business.

Can Unipile schedule social media posts?

Not through a scheduling field. In API v2 it creates, updates and deletes posts on LinkedIn (Classic), Instagram and Facebook, and Stories on Instagram, but the Create a Post request body has no scheduled-time parameter, so your product would have to hold a post and call the API when it should go out. The “Scheduling” in Unipile’s headline refers to calendar events, and its calendar scheduler is listed as coming soon.

Does Unipile use official APIs?

Its pages disagree. The pricing FAQ says: “For LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Instagram, Unipile operates through reverse engineering”, and that email, calendar and Telegram use official APIs. The REST API page claims “Direct API Access, No Scraping”, and a homepage card is headed “No Scraping”. Unipile also says it is not a Meta Partner and is not officially endorsed by LinkedIn or Instagram, and that it assigns proxies automatically for LinkedIn, Instagram and WhatsApp (Facebook too, per its v2 Proxies doc). The accounts involved are your users’ own, so check each provider’s terms before you build on it.

How are accounts counted for billing?

By the peak number of accounts linked at the same time during each billing period, which the pricing FAQ calls a 30-day period and the Terms of Use a monthly period. A Google or Microsoft account’s mailbox and its calendars count as one linked account. The Terms of Use say every account shown on the dashboard homepage is counted, whatever its status, including accounts in Error or Disconnected status, so an account left there disconnected still counts.

Does Unipile work with AI agents and MCP?

Yes. Unipile hosts an MCP server for coding agents. Its AI-agent page gives setup steps for Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI and Windsurf, and any client over Streamable HTTP, and shows four tools generated from the OpenAPI spec (list-specs, list-endpoints, get-endpoint and execute-request); the v2 MCP doc lists nine tools, including search-specs and get-code-snippet, and also gives setup for Claude Desktop and the ChatGPT desktop app. Without a key it works in docs-only mode, and with a scoped Account API key it can call the API. The vendor frames it as “MCP to Build, REST to Run”: use MCP while building, then call the REST API from your product.

Is Unipile secure and GDPR compliant?

These are the vendor’s statements; we have not audited them. Its security page says all data is hosted in France on Scaleway and OVHcloud, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, that it holds CASA Tier II, acts as a GDPR data processor with a DPA on request, and is SOC 2 Type II certified. Its pricing FAQ words SOC 2 differently, saying its infrastructure and processes are “aligned with SOC 2 requirements” and that compliance confirmation took effect on October 19, 2025; the report is available on request. A security FAQ adds that the DPA lists optional non-EU routing proxies.

Who is behind Unipile?

UNIPILE SAS, registered with the RCS of Roanne, France, under number 885265595, with its head office in Riorges and a share capital of €235,452.80. Its team page names Julien Crepieux as CEO and co-founder and Arnaud Hartmann as CTO and co-founder. Its customer figures, all its own claims, disagree: “Trusted by 6,000+ SaaS Platforms” on the homepage, “4000+ companies” on the team page, and on the pricing page both “6000+ Companies Innovating with Unipile” and a cohort chart of “3,000+ clients”.
