Postiz is an open-source scheduler (AGPL-3.0, 40,995 GitHub stars on 6 November 2026) that puts a public API, an MCP server and a CLI on every cloud plan. Zernio has no plans at all and bills per connected account. A developer weighing them is choosing between a scheduling app that also exposes an API and an API sold by the account. For 10 accounts, Postiz Team is $39/mo on monthly billing and Zernio $48 a month.

| Pricing model | Postiz Cloud sells four plans at a flat price per subscription (organisation), not per seat, tiered by connected channels: each connected social account is one channel. The docs’ plans page says plans tier on channels, not on volume, while the API overview says they tier on “channel and post-per-month quotas”; the pricing page lists unlimited posts per month on every plan. Billed monthly, or yearly at a monthly equivalent billed yearly, which the vendor says saves about 20%. Every plan includes the public API, webhooks, the MCP server and the CLI, plus monthly AI allowances that reset on the subscription anniversary. There is no free plan on the hosted cloud. The pricing page says every plan starts with a 7-day free trial; the docs say new organisations are normally offered one, once per organisation, and it needs a payment method. A white-label headless API for SaaS companies is a separate product with its own price list on the Enterprise page, whose Contact Sales buttons were disabled on November 6, 2026 with the note “We are not accepting new applications at the moment”. The open-source edition (AGPL-3.0) costs nothing to run beyond your own server, the vendor says, and you handle installation, updates, backups and the developer-app approvals on each network yourself; Postiz also sells app approval as an optional paid service. Postiz’s pages disagree on the yearly totals, on AI images and RSS auto-posting on Standard, on whether plans tier on post volume, on self-hosted feature parity and on the refund rules; both sides are shown below. | Usage-based, paid by card (the rate card says Card, monthly), with no seats, no plan tiers and no annual billing. The self-serve option, Build, charges per connected account per month on a graduated ladder: accounts 1 to 2 free, 3 to 10 at $6, 11 to 100 at $3 and 101 and up at $1, with no cap; each band prices only the accounts inside it, and billing is prorated by account-day. Outbound inbox messages beyond 10,000 a month, managed ads beyond 500, X API calls (at X’s rates), phone numbers, calls, SMS, RCS, iMessage and payout transfers are metered on top. Enterprise is custom-priced and available past 2,000 accounts, with postpaid invoicing on net-30/60 terms, and the Enterprise page says most enterprise contracts include volume-based discounts on the public ladder. Each ad account and each WhatsApp number counts as a connected account on the same ladder (the pricing docs: “A Page, its Instagram account and the Meta ad account behind them are 3”). Zernio’s own pages conflict on two points. The pricing FAQ says usage is “billed at the end of each billing period”, while the billing docs say “Zernio charges your card as you accrue usage, not once at the end of the month”, first at a threshold that starts at $10 and then doubles. The pricing page says “Every feature included, nothing gated behind a plan”, while API reference entries for ads still say “Requires the Ads add-on”. |
| Best for | Developers and SaaS teams that want to post to many networks through a REST API, webhooks or MCP for a flat monthly price | SaaS products that let their users post, reply or report on social networks from inside the product |
| Platforms | Web (Postiz Cloud); CLI via npm; open-source edition self-hosted on your own server | Cloud REST API and web dashboard; official SDKs for Node.js, Python, Go, Ruby, Java, PHP, .NET and Rust; CLI; hosted MCP server |
Our rating: the median of five independent editorial scores per tool, each taken from a uniform fact sheet of our review, on the same criteria and rules for the eight Social Media & Messaging APIs. It weighs value and pricing transparency, free ways to try the API (a trial or free plan earns that credit only if it includes the API), what works today (usable networks only), developer and agent tooling, trust (independent ratings, security evidence, company age and size where the review states them, and incidents on the vendor’s own status page, weighed by hours and severity) and consistency of the vendor’s own pages, where each self-contradiction counts once, at the same weight for every vendor. Affiliate status is not an input. How we score
Open-source social media scheduler with a public API, webhooks, an MCP server and a CLI on every plan, sold as flat plans tiered by connected channels
WHY PICK IT- Public REST API, webhooks, a hosted MCP server with 13 tools and a CLI on every plan; the pricing page says there is no separate agent tier
- Flat plan prices with unlimited posts per month on the pricing page (the API overview mentions post-per-month quotas), and unlimited team members from Team up, since seats are not counted
- The price per channel falls on bigger plans: $0.79 a month per channel when all 100 Ultimate channels are used on yearly billing
Social media API and MCP server for posting, DMs, analytics and ads from code, priced per connected account with the first 2 free
WHY PICK IT- Free tier for 2 connected accounts with the full API, analytics and no credit card, and no seats or plan tiers to choose between
- Published graduated price per connected account per month ($6, then $3, then $1, no cap), with the proration formula and worked examples in the docs
- One request shape publishes to 10 social networks plus WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and Slack (Reddit and Snapchat are listed too, but their docs pages say Reddit is temporarily unavailable and Snapchat is not available yet), and the same API covers DMs, comments, reviews, analytics, 9 ad networks and blog articles
The verdict
Choose Postiz if you want a scheduling calendar your team uses alongside the API, or code you can run yourself. Team is $39/mo on monthly billing ($31 a month billed yearly) for 10 channels with unlimited posts and unlimited team members, and the AGPL-3.0 edition self-hosts for the cost of your server, though Postiz says you handle installation, updates, backups and the developer-app approvals on each social network yourself. Check the limits first: no free plan on the cloud (the 7-day trial needs a card), and 90 create-post API requests an hour by the cloud limits page (100 in the API overview, 30 in the OpenAPI spec's description), although one request can carry many posts.
Choose Zernio if the agent has to answer comments and DMs, read analytics or run ads through one API. Ten posting accounts cost $48 a month on usage-based monthly billing with the first 2 free and no card; ad accounts and WhatsApp numbers add connected accounts, and sent messages above 10,000 a month, numbers, SMS and managed ads above 500 are billed on top. Each account is capped at 25 posts an hour and a daily limit by platform (100 on Instagram, 50 on LinkedIn), the API allows 600 requests a minute from the 3rd account to the 2,000th (60 on the free tier), and SDKs ship in 8 languages against Postiz's Node.js SDK, last updated on npm in July 2025.
Bottom line: Postiz is the cheaper way to publish to 10 accounts, and it offers a self-hosted edition. Zernio is the better fit when publishing is one of several jobs the integration has to do.
