Outstand vs Zernio: Which Is Better in 2026?

Affiliate disclosure: the link to Zernio is an affiliate link — we may earn a commission if you buy, at no cost to you. The link to Outstand is a plain link: we earn nothing from it. Neither changes this comparison, which is based on editorial research.

Both sell one API and a hosted MCP server for posting to many networks, and both connect Instagram and LinkedIn through their own apps by default, so you need no app review of your own. They bill opposite things. Outstand charges nothing per account and bills the posts it delivers, where one post to one connected account counts as one; Zernio charges per connected account on a graduated monthly ladder and nothing per post. For five brands posting to Instagram and LinkedIn, that is $19 a month at Outstand, whose base fee includes 3,000 posts a month, and $48 at Zernio, on monthly billing; neither offers annual billing.

The key difference: Outstand's bill follows the posts you deliver, with accounts and seats free; Zernio's follows the accounts you connect, with posts unlimited within its per-account rate limits. So Outstand is cheaper while volume is low and Zernio once it is high: for this setup the two meet at 7,143 posts a month (our arithmetic).

Pricing model Usage-based in the vendor’s words: a monthly plan fee that includes a number of posts, then a rate per post, billed monthly by card through Stripe, in USD, with no annual plan, no seat fee and no setup fee. The billing unit is one post delivered to one connected account, so one post sent to 10 accounts counts as 10, and pending, published and failed deliveries all count; drafts are not billed and included posts do not roll over. Connected accounts and team seats cost nothing on either plan. Pay as you go is $19 a month with 3,000 posts included, then $0.007 a post for posts 3,001 to 10,000 and $0.005 above 10,000, in marginal bands. Business is $129 a month per organization with 50,000 posts included, then $0.005 a post, and is the plan that permits reselling. DM conversations are metered separately after an allowance, and opt-in video re-encoding is billed at $0.05 per 10-second output block, a charge that neither pricing.md nor the homepage pricing section mentions. Enterprise is custom-priced. No free plan, free trial or free credits are published. Usage-based, paid by card (the rate card says Card, monthly), with no seats, no plan tiers and no annual billing. The self-serve option, Build, charges per connected account per month on a graduated ladder: accounts 1 to 2 free, 3 to 10 at $6, 11 to 100 at $3 and 101 and up at $1, with no cap; each band prices only the accounts inside it, and billing is prorated by account-day. Outbound inbox messages beyond 10,000 a month, managed ads beyond 500, X API calls (at X’s rates), phone numbers, calls, SMS, RCS, iMessage and payout transfers are metered on top. Enterprise is custom-priced and available past 2,000 accounts, with postpaid invoicing on net-30/60 terms, and the Enterprise page says most enterprise contracts include volume-based discounts on the public ladder. Each ad account and each WhatsApp number counts as a connected account on the same ladder (the pricing docs: “A Page, its Instagram account and the Meta ad account behind them are 3”). Zernio’s own pages conflict on two points. The pricing FAQ says usage is “billed at the end of each billing period”, while the billing docs say “Zernio charges your card as you accrue usage, not once at the end of the month”, first at a threshold that starts at $10 and then doubles. The pricing page says “Every feature included, nothing gated behind a plan”, while API reference entries for ads still say “Requires the Ads add-on”.
Best for Developers and SaaS products that connect many accounts but post at modest volume, since accounts and seats are free and 3,000 deliveries a month are in the $19 fee SaaS products that let their users post, reply or report on social networks from inside the product

Our rating: the median of five independent editorial scores per tool, each taken from a uniform fact sheet of our review, on the same criteria and rules for the eight Social Media & Messaging APIs. It weighs value and pricing transparency, free ways to try the API (a trial or free plan earns that credit only if it includes the API), what works today (usable networks only), developer and agent tooling, trust (independent ratings, security evidence, company age and size where the review states them, and incidents on the vendor’s own status page, weighed by hours and severity) and consistency of the vendor’s own pages, where each self-contradiction counts once, at the same weight for every vendor. Affiliate status is not an input. How we score

Outstand
3.9

Social media API and MCP server for 12 networks, priced by the post delivered rather than by account or seat: $19 a month, billed monthly, with 3,000 posts included

WHY PICK IT
  • Connected accounts and team seats are free on both plans, so the bill moves with posts delivered rather than with accounts
  • Low entry price, $19 a month billed monthly with 3,000 posts included, and a published formula, marginal rates and worked examples in pricing.md
  • Managed Keys cover 8 of the 12 networks, Instagram and LinkedIn among them, so those connect without your own app or a Meta or LinkedIn app review
Zernio
4.3

Social media API and MCP server for posting, DMs, analytics and ads from code, priced per connected account with the first 2 free

WHY PICK IT
  • Free tier for 2 connected accounts with the full API, analytics and no credit card, and no seats or plan tiers to choose between
  • Published graduated price per connected account per month ($6, then $3, then $1, no cap), with the proration formula and worked examples in the docs
  • One request shape publishes to 10 social networks plus WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and Slack (Reddit and Snapchat are listed too, but their docs pages say Reddit is temporarily unavailable and Snapchat is not available yet), and the same API covers DMs, comments, reviews, analytics, 9 ad networks and blog articles

The verdict

Choose Outstand if you connect many accounts but post modestly. Pay as you go is $19 a month, billed monthly, with connected accounts and seats free and 3,000 posts included, then $0.007 a post up to 10,000 and $0.005 above; every delivery counts, failed ones too, and included posts do not roll over. There is no free plan or trial: the API returns 402 until the subscription is active. Its pages give 100 or 50 Instagram posts per account per rolling 24 hours. Its Terms make reselling to clients, including within your own products, a Business-plan right at $129 a month or one that needs written permission, and opt-in video re-encoding costs $0.05 per 10-second block, a charge its pricing pages do not mention.

Choose Zernio if you post often, or the job goes past posting. Ten accounts cost $48 a month on usage-based monthly billing whatever the volume, within caps of 25 posts an hour per account and 100 a day on Instagram or 50 on LinkedIn, so from 7,143 posts a month across this setup Zernio is the cheaper bill (our arithmetic). The first 2 accounts are free with no card, and the API also covers comments, DMs, ads and messaging channels, though each ad account and WhatsApp number counts as another connected account, and numbers, SMS, sent messages above 10,000 a month and managed ads above 500 are billed on top. X calls pass through at X's rates.

Bottom line: For your own brands at modest volume, Outstand is the cheaper bill: $19 against $48 for this setup, up to 7,142 posts a month (our arithmetic). Zernio is cheaper above that, costs nothing for the first 2 accounts, and covers ads and messaging channels, each with fees of its own; to serve clients through your own product, set Zernio against Outstand Business at $129 a month.
