Blotato vs Zernio: Which Is Better in 2026?

Affiliate disclosure: the link to Zernio is an affiliate link — we may earn a commission if you buy, at no cost to you. The link to Blotato is a plain link: we earn nothing from it. Neither changes this comparison, which is based on editorial research.

Both sell to people building with AI agents. Blotato's homepage headline is 'Social Media Automation Inside ChatGPT & Claude', Zernio's 'Marketing infrastructure for agents'. Blotato's own MCP page sums up the field: Zernio 'covers more surface than we do and is the better pick if ads are part of the job', Outstand 'is cheaper at low volume', Postiz 'reaches more platforms than any of us and is free if you self-host', and Blotato's case is 'a bill that does not meter each post'; its table says Zernio fits when 'you are running few enough accounts that per-account pricing beats a flat fee'. Blotato Starter is $29/mo, billed monthly, for up to 20 connected accounts. Zernio's per-account ladder comes to $48 a month for 10 accounts and $78 for 20 (our arithmetic from its rate card).

The key difference: Blotato publishes to 9 platforms at a flat monthly price per plan, with comments and DMs on Instagram and Facebook only and no ads endpoints; Zernio charges per connected account and lists 12 social posting platforms in its docs, two of which its docs pages say cannot be used today (Reddit is temporarily unavailable and Snapchat is not available yet), plus messaging channels and an Ads API across 9 ad networks, whose ad accounts count as connected accounts.

Pricing model Three plans at flat monthly prices in USD, each a single price for the whole Blotato account rather than per seat, per post or per API call: Starter $29, Creator $97 and Agency $499 a month. Every plan includes the same REST API and MCP server, with no API tier or add-on. The plans differ in their caps: connected social accounts (20, 40 or 100 in total across all platforms, where each Facebook Page and each LinkedIn company Page counts separately), AI credits a month, the largest single upload, scheduled posts in the queue at any one time and active contacts a month for DMs and comment replies. The higher plans also add faster or dedicated video processing and support, and the help docs tie analytics snapshots per post, the YouTube cap per 24 hours and a Starter-only limit of 3 TikTok accounts per 24 hours to the plan. The pricing page sells monthly billing only; the vendor says yearly billing, switched on in the Billing Portal, saves about 17% (pay for 10 months and get 12) and publishes no yearly dollar price. Extra AI credits are $6.00 per additional pack of 1,000 credits. There is no free plan: every plan starts with a 7-day free trial that needs a card and excludes the API and MCP. Usage-based, paid by card (the rate card says Card, monthly), with no seats, no plan tiers and no annual billing. The self-serve option, Build, charges per connected account per month on a graduated ladder: accounts 1 to 2 free, 3 to 10 at $6, 11 to 100 at $3 and 101 and up at $1, with no cap; each band prices only the accounts inside it, and billing is prorated by account-day. Outbound inbox messages beyond 10,000 a month, managed ads beyond 500, X API calls (at X’s rates), phone numbers, calls, SMS, RCS, iMessage and payout transfers are metered on top. Enterprise is custom-priced and available past 2,000 accounts, with postpaid invoicing on net-30/60 terms, and the Enterprise page says most enterprise contracts include volume-based discounts on the public ladder. Each ad account and each WhatsApp number counts as a connected account on the same ladder (the pricing docs: “A Page, its Instagram account and the Meta ad account behind them are 3”). Zernio’s own pages conflict on two points. The pricing FAQ says usage is “billed at the end of each billing period”, while the billing docs say “Zernio charges your card as you accrue usage, not once at the end of the month”, first at a threshold that starts at $10 and then doubles. The pricing page says “Every feature included, nothing gated behind a plan”, while API reference entries for ads still say “Requires the Ads add-on”.

Our rating: the median of five independent editorial scores per tool, each taken from a uniform fact sheet of our review, on the same criteria and rules for the eight Social Media & Messaging APIs. It weighs value and pricing transparency, free ways to try the API (a trial or free plan earns that credit only if it includes the API), what works today (usable networks only), developer and agent tooling, trust (independent ratings, security evidence, company age and size where the review states them, and incidents on the vendor’s own status page, weighed by hours and severity) and consistency of the vendor’s own pages, where each self-contradiction counts once, at the same weight for every vendor. Affiliate status is not an input. How we score

Blotato
4.0

Social media API and hosted MCP server for AI agents, publishing to 9 networks at a flat monthly price per plan

WHY PICK IT
  • Flat monthly prices with no per-post, per-seat or per-API-call fees: Starter is $29 a month, billed monthly, for up to 20 connected social accounts
  • The same REST API endpoints and MCP tools on every paid plan, with no separate API tier or add-on
  • One integration publishes and schedules to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest and YouTube, including threads, carousels, Stories, Reels, Shorts and TikTok slideshows
Zernio
4.3

Social media API and MCP server for posting, DMs, analytics and ads from code, priced per connected account with the first 2 free

WHY PICK IT
  • Free tier for 2 connected accounts with the full API, analytics and no credit card, and no seats or plan tiers to choose between
  • Published graduated price per connected account per month ($6, then $3, then $1, no cap), with the proration formula and worked examples in the docs
  • One request shape publishes to 10 social networks plus WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and Slack (Reddit and Snapchat are listed too, but their docs pages say Reddit is temporarily unavailable and Snapchat is not available yet), and the same API covers DMs, comments, reviews, analytics, 9 ad networks and blog articles

The verdict

Choose Blotato if your agent posts to the big nine networks and you want one predictable bill: Starter is $29/mo for up to 20 connected accounts, Creator $97/mo for 40 and Agency $499/mo for 100, each with the same REST API and MCP server and no per-post fee. Budget for building, though: the 7-day trial excludes the API, and generating an API key starts the paid plan.

Choose Zernio if the job reaches past Blotato's nine networks or into inboxes and ads: Google Business Profile or Telegram (Zernio lists Reddit too, but its docs page says Reddit is temporarily unavailable), DMs on X or Bluesky, or TikTok DM replies (Business Accounts registered outside the EEA, Switzerland and the UK only), or campaigns on Meta, Google, LinkedIn and six more ad networks. The first 2 accounts are free with the full API and no card, so you can build before paying; after that each account costs $6 a month up to the 10th and $3 up to the 100th, each ad account and WhatsApp number counts as one, and numbers, SMS, sent messages above 10,000 a month and managed ads above 500 are billed on top.

Bottom line: From 7 to 20 accounts on the networks Blotato covers, its flat $29 a month is the cheaper bill, and from 27 to 40 accounts Creator's $97 is (our arithmetic from Zernio's rate card: 7 accounts cost $30 and 27 cost $99). Once the work includes ads, inboxes beyond Instagram and Facebook, or networks outside its nine, Zernio is the one of the two that covers it, with ad accounts billed as connected accounts.
