Needed to connect X on paid plans; X is not available on Free. The help center gives €10/$10 a month or €120/$120 a year, says current pricing took effect on July 13, 2026, and lets add-ons bought before July 2026 keep a legacy €5/$5 a month (€60/$60 a year). X metrics are stored for 30 days on every paid plan.
Advanced Analytics add-on
From $12/month on Starter, from $36/month on Advanced

The pricing page says the add-on gives access to Metricool Studio and unlimited campaign dashboards, plus advanced analytics with 30 days of historical data.
Hashtag Tracker
$25/day to track Twitter/X or Instagram
Priced per day of tracking: Track Twitter/X $25/day, Track Instagram $25/day.

Editor's verdict

“Metricool gives freelancers, small businesses and small agencies a lot for the money when they manage several brands: Starter covers up to 5 brands for $20/month with annual billing ($25 monthly), with 11 networks, website and ads analytics, unlimited analytics history, PDF and PPT reports and Flows (at no extra cost for a limited time) in one place, and the Free plan works for a single brand that posts up to 20 times a month. Check the extras before you buy. X costs $10/month per connected account, team members and client approvals start at Advanced ($53/month with annual billing), White Label needs a Custom quote, and there is no standard trial. Pinterest is supported for scheduling and organic analytics but sits outside the Inbox and competitor analysis, so Pinterest-first accounts should compare it with Tailwind.”
Best for
Freelancers and small businesses running several brands on one low-cost plan
Small agencies that want client approvals, team roles and reports in one tool
Teams that want social, website and ad analytics side by side
Watch out for
Team members and the post approval system start at Advanced ($53/month with annual billing); Starter has neither
X costs $10/month per connected account on top of a paid plan and keeps only 30 days of metrics; Free has no LinkedIn or X at all

Metricool is a social media management tool: a planner, analytics, reports, an inbox, SmartLinks and ads analytics in one account. Its homepage pitch is to plan, measure and manage it all in one tool. It connects Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Twitter/X, Twitch, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn, plus a website or blog and Facebook Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads accounts.
The service provider is METRICOOL SOFTWARE, SL, registered in Madrid, Spain. On its own timeline the company began as Bloggerespacio in 2014, became Metricool in 2015, reached its first 1 million clients worldwide in 2022 and joined team.blue in 2024; it was founded by Laura and Juanpa, both software engineers. It describes itself as a Google, Pinterest, Meta, LinkedIn and X partner. Its pages disagree on how many people use it: over 4 million professionals on the homepage, 3.5+ million on the MCP page and more than 3 million on the reviews page.
How it handles Pinterest
Pinterest is available on every plan, one profile per brand: 1 on Free, up to 10 on Starter and 50 on Advanced. To schedule a pin you add an image or a video, write up to 800 characters of text, select or create the board, and optionally add a title and a link; a still frame from a video can be the cover. The standard pin is the default, and a use new pin format option changes it. Rich Pins need nothing in Metricool, because Pinterest reads them from your site markup, and you promote a pin on Pinterest after it is published. The Pinterest page adds Canva or Adobe Express designs, a built-in editor, UTM links and repurposing pins for other networks.
Analytics cover pins and boards, are organic only and need a Pinterest business account; the metrics include followers, pins, impressions, engagement, pin clicks, outbound clicks and saves. Through the Metricool MCP, an AI client can read pins with their metrics and the boards available for scheduling. The gaps matter for Pinterest-first accounts: on the pricing table Pinterest is absent from the Inbox networks, the competitor-analysis rows and the best-times row, and the scheduling guide describes choosing one board per pin and does not mention posting a pin to several boards.
Instagram and the planner
For Instagram the vendor lists posts, Stories, Reels and carousels, and says everything posts automatically with no notifications or extra steps. It also lists a feed preview with drag and drop, scheduling of Trial Reels and, in its Instagram extras list, Add up to 5 collaborators, which is separate from team members (those start at Advanced). Instagram messages arrive in the shared Inbox, and on paid plans Flows can send keyword-triggered replies to comments, DMs and story reactions; the pricing table lists every Flows feature at No extra cost for a limited time on Starter, Advanced and Custom, so Flows may become a paid extra.
The planner handles a first comment, bulk import from CSV files, alt text, UTM parameters, a feed preview and best times to post, and its hashtag finder covers TikTok and Instagram (not on Free). Recurring scheduling is listed only on Advanced and Custom. Paid plans publish without a monthly cap, which a pricing-page footnote says may be limited by the Fair Use Policy. The legal terms set a base threshold of 600 posts per brand per month: above it Metricool reviews the account by hand and pauses posting during the check, and if it finds no breach it sets a custom, higher threshold. Free stops at 20 published posts a month, and at 10 YouTube videos a month.
When we opened it, the pricing page showed annual billing in US dollars (labelled save up to 24%), with euro prices also published. Free is $0. Starter is $20/month for up to 5 brands or $36/month for up to 10. Advanced is $53, $85 or $159 a month for up to 15, 25 or 50 brands, and Custom is Let’s talk!. With monthly billing the same tiers cost $25 and $45 for Starter and $67, $107 and $210 for Advanced. In euros, Starter is €16 or €29 a month with annual billing and €20 or €37 with monthly billing; Advanced is €43/month, €69/month and €130 with annual billing (the last shown without /month) and €54, €87 or €172 a month with monthly billing. Prices exclude VAT, and the help center says the annual discount is already applied to the final price.
Worked examples from those prices. A creator with one brand can stay on Free at $0 while 20 published posts a month and 30 days of analytics are enough and LinkedIn and X are not needed. A small business that wants LinkedIn, unlimited publishing or reports pays Starter’s lowest tier: $20 × 12 = $240 a year with annual billing, or $25 × 12 = $300 paying monthly; adding one X account costs $10 a month more, or $120 a year. A freelancer with 8 client brands needs the 10-brand Starter tier: $36 × 12 = $432 a year with annual billing or $45 × 12 = $540 monthly. An agency that needs client approvals and team members has to move to Advanced: 15 brands cost $53 × 12 = $636 a year with annual billing or $67 × 12 = $804 monthly, before VAT and add-ons.
Add-ons and plan limits to check
Some things cost extra. The Twitter/X add-on is $10/month per connected account on paid plans (current pricing since July 13, 2026, per the help center; add-ons bought earlier keep a legacy price), and X metrics are stored for 30 days on every paid plan; complete Twitter/X analytics are listed on Advanced. The Advanced Analytics add-on starts at $12 (10 €) a month on Starter and $36 (30 €) a month on Advanced. Without it, paid plans include 3 campaign dashboards and 2 Metricool Studio views (the pricing page says 5 versions, the help center 10 per view), and Advanced includes 15 days of detailed analytics; the add-on extends this to 30 days and, the pricing page says, gives access to Metricool Studio and unlimited campaign dashboards. The Hashtag Tracker is priced by the day: $25/day to track Twitter/X or Instagram.
Team features are the biggest jump between plans. Starter has no team members and no post approval system. Advanced adds unlimited team members, team and client management, role management, approvals, customizable report templates, the Data Studio connector and the Metricool API used by Zapier and Make, which the help center says is available only on Advanced and Custom. White Label, a dedicated account manager and custom AI credits are only on Custom.
AI assistant, MCP and analytics
The AI Social Media Assistant generates posts, adapts text for each platform, writes calls to action, finds TikTok and Instagram hashtags, adjusts length, translates and proofreads. Credits are counted per brand per month: 5 on Free, 20 on Starter, 35 on Advanced and a custom amount on Custom. The AI alt text generator uses those credits on Free and Starter and needs none on Advanced and Custom.
Metricool also runs an official MCP server that works with Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, ChatGPT (Developer Mode), Mistral Le Chat, Make and n8n. Metricool’s MCP page says the server is public in the metricool/mcp-metricool GitHub repository and on PyPI. The PyPI package mcp-metricool is listed (version 1.1.9, released October 7, 2025), but the GitHub address returned Page not found when we checked on October 24, 2026. The vendor says the MCP works on every plan, including the free account, with your plan’s limits carrying over (on Free, no data older than 30 days and no more than 20 posts), and the pricing table marks it Limits may apply on Free and Starter.
Analytics span social networks, website or blog traffic and Facebook, Google and TikTok ad accounts, with CSV export and a Data Studio connection (the connector is on Advanced and Custom). Free keeps 30 days of metrics with a watermark; paid plans keep unlimited history, except X at 30 days, counted from when you connect an account (the legal terms say data is retrieved from that moment and, in some cases, from the two months before). Starter adds PDF and PPT reports and Advanced adds customizable templates. Competitor analysis tracks 5 fixed profiles on Free and, on paid plans, up to 100 on Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky and Twitch, 10 on YouTube and 100 on X with the add-on.
Who it fits, and who it does not
It fits freelancers, small businesses and small agencies that manage several brands, because the price follows the number of brands: five cost $20/month on Starter with annual billing, and Advanced includes unlimited team members at its brand-based price. It also suits teams that want social, website and ad analytics with reports in one place, Instagram creators who want automatic publishing, and anyone who wants an AI client to read their social data through the MCP. Buyers who care where data lives can note that the privacy policy says everything is stored on EU servers.
It fits less well for Pinterest-first businesses, since Pinterest sits outside the Inbox and competitor analysis; for small teams that need approvals, because approvals start at Advanced ($53/month with annual billing for up to 15 brands); for heavy X users, who pay $10/month per account and keep 30 days of X metrics; and for agencies that want clients to log in to a white-labelled Metricool, which needs a Custom quote (Advanced’s customizable report templates already let you design reports that fit your branding). If you want to try paid features first, there is no standard trial, and refunds apply only within 15 days of a first purchase; a new purchase after a lapsed subscription counts as a first purchase again, and add-ons are covered on their first purchase.
Honest cons and caveats
The vendor’s own pages are not fully consistent: user counts appear as 4 million+, 3.5+ million and 3 million+ on three pages, the 50-brand Advanced price in euros on annual billing is shown as €130 without /month, and the pricing page shows per-month figures under the annual toggle without a yearly total. The pricing block on the MCP page still carries a footnote pricing the X add-on at +$5 per connected account, against $10 on the pricing page and in the help center, and the legal terms list MetriLAB AI, the MCP connection to external models, for paid plans, while the MCP page and the pricing table put the Metricool MCP on Free. Unlimited publishing on paid plans comes with a footnote that it may be limited by the Fair Use Policy, whose base threshold the legal terms set at 600 posts per brand per month.
On Trustpilot, Metricool had a TrustScore of 4.1 (Great) from 687 reviews when we read it on October 23, 2026; the profile has been claimed since March 2020, and Trustpilot notes that the company has no recent history of asking for reviews. G2 answered our request with a bot check, so we record no G2 score.

Reviewed separately. Since September 25, 2026 Tailwind has sold only Pinterest plans, accounts created since late September 2026 cannot connect Instagram or Facebook, and scheduling to Instagram and Facebook remains only on legacy plans. In Metricool, Pinterest is one network per brand with organic pin and board analytics for business accounts; its scheduling guide describes choosing one board per pin and does not mention posting a pin to several boards, and Pinterest is left out of the Inbox and competitor analysis.
Reviewed separately. Metricool prices its paid plans by number of brands (Starter: 5 brands for $20/month with annual billing, 10 for $36/month), and each brand holds one profile per network or ad platform.
Reviewed separately. Metricool’s Instagram support covers posts, Stories, Reels and carousels with automatic publishing, a drag-and-drop feed preview, Trial Reels and multiple link-in-bio pages from Starter.
Reviewed separately. In Metricool, team members, role management and post approvals start at Advanced ($53/month with annual billing for up to 15 brands).
Reviewed separately. Metricool combines an inbox, reports and Facebook, Google and TikTok Ads analytics in one tool, while White Label and a dedicated account manager need the quote-only Custom plan.
Yes. The Free plan never expires and needs no credit card. It covers 1 brand on every network except LinkedIn and X, up to 20 published posts a month (YouTube: up to 10 videos a month on Free; scheduled posts count only once they publish, and the counter resets on the 1st), 5 fixed competitor profiles, 30 days of analytics with a watermark, 5 AI credits per brand a month and the Metricool MCP, which the pricing table marks Limits may apply on Free. It has no PDF/PPT reports, SmartLinks, hashtag finder, Canva, Google Drive, Data Studio or Make/Zapier.
How much does Metricool cost?
With annual billing, Starter is $20/month for up to 5 brands or $36/month for up to 10, and Advanced is $53, $85 or $159 a month for up to 15, 25 or 50 brands. With monthly billing the same tiers cost $25 and $45, and $67, $107 and $210. In euros, Starter is €16 or €29 a month with annual billing and €20 or €37 with monthly billing. Custom is quoted on request, and all prices exclude VAT.
What counts as a brand?
The pricing page says that under each brand you can manage 1 profile for each social network or ad platform. A client with one Instagram account, one Facebook page and one Pinterest profile is therefore one brand, and Starter’s lowest tier covers five of them.
Does Metricool work with Pinterest?
Yes, on every plan, one Pinterest profile per brand. You can schedule image or video pins with up to 800 characters of text to a board you select or create, with an optional title and link; the standard pin is the default, with a use new pin format option. Rich Pins come from your website markup, so there is nothing to turn on in Metricool, and promoting a pin is done on Pinterest. Analytics for pins and boards are organic only and need a business account. Pinterest is not in Metricool’s Inbox or competitor analysis.
Does Metricool post to Instagram automatically?
Yes. The vendor says posts, Stories, Reels and carousels all publish automatically, with no notifications or extra steps. It also lists a drag-and-drop feed preview, scheduling of Trial Reels and, in its Instagram extras list, Add up to 5 collaborators, which is separate from team members (those start at Advanced).
Can I connect LinkedIn and X (Twitter)?
Only on paid plans. LinkedIn connects from Starter. X also needs the X add-on at $10/month per connected account (the help center gives €10/$10 a month or €120/$120 a year), and X metrics are stored for 30 days even on paid plans.
Is there a free trial of the paid plans?
Not as a standard offer. The legal terms describe paid trials only through promotional Trial Codes, after which the plan is charged automatically unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep the plan until the end of the billing cycle, when the account becomes Free. The 15-day right of withdrawal applies to a first purchase: a new purchase after a lapsed subscription counts as a first purchase again, and add-ons are covered on their first purchase, while automatic renewals are never refunded.
Does Metricool have client approvals?
Yes, on Advanced and Custom. You send posts for approval from the planner, clients and team members approve or suggest edits, and approved posts publish automatically. Advanced also adds unlimited team members and role management; Free and Starter have no team members.
Where does Metricool store data?
Its privacy policy says all data is stored on servers within the European Union, and that account passwords are stored encrypted. The service provider is METRICOOL SOFTWARE, SL, with its registered office in Madrid, Spain.
