The verdict
Choose Tailwind if you run Pinterest yourself or with a small team and want Pinterest tools rather than a suite. Tailwind covers pacing (SmartSchedule, Pin Spacing, interval scheduling), creation (SmartPin, Ghostwriter) and, as the separate Pinterest SEO tool, keyword research. Current plans allow unlimited collaborators, and the Viewer role's posts need admin approval before they publish.
Choose Sprout Social if Pinterest sits inside a multi-network team that needs Sprout's reporting and workflow. In Compose, Pins can go to one or more boards and new boards can be created, and a dedicated Pinterest Profiles Report sits next to the cross-network reports. Check the plan first. The pricing table includes Pinterest on Essentials, but Sprout's Pinterest help article lists only Standard, Professional and Advanced.
Bottom line: For Pinterest growth on a creator's budget, choose Tailwind. For a social team that must report on Pinterest alongside Instagram, LinkedIn and the rest, choose Sprout Social, and expect to pay per seat for it.
