Hootsuite vs Tailwind: Which Is Better in 2026?

Affiliate disclosure: the link to Tailwind is an affiliate link — we may earn a commission if you buy, at no cost to you. The link to Hootsuite is a plain link: we earn nothing from it. Neither changes this comparison, which is based on editorial research.

These two sit at opposite ends of almost every measure. Hootsuite sells seats on a multi-network suite of publishing, inbox, listening and analytics, from $99 per user/month billed annually. It has no free plan and publishes no monthly price. Tailwind sells Pinterest-only tools per Pinterest account: Pin scheduling is $17.99/mo on Annual ($29.99 monthly), the SEO and Engagement modules are $11.99/mo each on Annual, and you can start free with no credit card. A buyer weighing them is usually deciding whether Pinterest deserves its own tool or one tab in a larger dashboard.

The key difference: Hootsuite spreads across many networks but leaves Pinterest out of its inbox and its ads publishing, and keeps Pinterest listening for Enterprise. Tailwind goes deep on one network for under $50 a month per Pinterest account on either billing period, even for the full Bundle.

The verdict

Choose Hootsuite if Pinterest is one channel in a team's wider operation and you need the rest of the suite. Standard manages up to 10 accounts and schedules Pins to several accounts or boards at once, including private and shared boards, next to Instagram, for which Hootsuite says it is an official partner. Approval workflows start at Advanced, $399 per user/month billed annually.

Choose Tailwind if your growth plan is Pinterest-led and you want Pinterest tools at a Pinterest price. The Bundle of Pin Scheduling & Creation, Pinterest SEO and Pinterest Engagement is $29.98/mo on Annual, or $44.98/mo monthly, per Pinterest account. Current plans allow unlimited collaborators, and the Viewer role's posts wait for admin approval.

Bottom line: A team that must answer comments and report across many networks needs a suite like Hootsuite, and will find Pinterest is one of its thinner integrations. A solo creator or small shop growing through Pinterest gets more Pinterest-specific tools for far less from Tailwind.
