Tailwind vs Later: Which Is Better in 2026?
Affiliate disclosure: the link to Tailwind is an affiliate link — we may earn a commission if you buy, at no cost to you. The link to Later is a plain link: we earn nothing from it. Neither changes this comparison, which is based on editorial research.
Both companies say they are Pinterest Marketing Partners, but in 2026 they have pulled apart. Tailwind dropped Instagram and Facebook for new subscribers on September 25, 2026, and now sells only Pinterest tools. Later went the other way. Its homepage now leads with influencer marketing, and its scheduling plans bundle one profile on each of eight platforms into a 'social set', Pinterest and Instagram included. Choosing between them is really a choice between Pinterest volume and Pinterest as one profile among eight.

| Pricing model | Three Pinterest products (Pin Scheduling & Creation, Pinterest SEO, Pinterest Engagement) sold separately or as a Bundle, each priced per Pinterest account and billed monthly or annually. Annual prices are shown as a monthly equivalent and charged once a year upfront; the help center says annual billing saves up to 40%. Every plan includes a monthly credit allowance that pays for actions such as scheduling a Pin (1 credit); extra credits cost $10 per 100. Verified non-profits get 50% off any product. | Flat price per plan, not per user: each plan bundles a set number of social sets (one profile per supported platform in each set), users, posts per profile and AI credits. Bill Yearly is the default and is labelled 3 months free, 25% off; annual plans are billed once a year and renew automatically. Growth and Scale can add social sets, users and AI credits. Prices are in USD and taxes are extra. The Free plan is described in Later’s help center but not shown on the pricing page. |

The verdict
Choose Tailwind if you pin often and want the pacing handled. SmartSchedule spreads Pins across waking hours, and Pin Spacing stops same-URL Pins publishing back-to-back. The 300 monthly credits, at 1 credit per scheduled Pin, go well past Later Starter's 30 posts per profile a month.
Choose Later if you need Instagram, TikTok and Later's other networks in the same calendar, and your Pinterest volume fits Starter's 30 posts per profile a month, or Growth's 180 at $37.50 USD/month billed yearly. Know the Pinterest limits first. Later posts only to public boards, not secret ones, and its Pinterest analytics cover only Pins scheduled through Later, each tracked for two weeks after it posts.
Bottom line: Later is the better buy when Pinterest is one profile in a set. Tailwind is the better buy when Pinterest volume is the point, because Later's Starter cap of 30 posts per profile a month bites where Tailwind's 300 monthly scheduling credits do not (Later's Growth raises the cap to 180 at $37.50 a month billed yearly).
