Planoly vs Tailwind: Which Is Better in 2026?
Affiliate disclosure: the link to Tailwind is an affiliate link — we may earn a commission if you buy, at no cost to you. The link to Planoly is a plain link: we earn nothing from it. Neither changes this comparison, which is based on editorial research.
Planoly says it launched in 2016 as the first visual Instagram planner, and its tools still lean that way: a grid preview, Instagram DM automations and an inbox that covers Instagram only. Tailwind now leans entirely the other way, selling Pinterest-only plans to new accounts since September 25, 2026. Planoly Starter is $14/month billed annually ($16 monthly) for one account on each of eight networks. Tailwind's Pin Scheduling & Creation is $17.99/mo on Annual ($29.99 monthly) for one Pinterest account. The choice comes down to which network you are building on.

| Pricing model | A flat monthly price per plan, not per user: each plan includes a set number of social sets (up to one account of each network) and users. Billed monthly, or annually upfront at a discount the pricing page puts at up to 15%. Growth and Pro can add social sets and users for a monthly fee; Starter cannot. A Content Marketplace add-on with editable Canva templates is sold on Growth and Pro, with no price on the pages we read. Prices are in USD; plans bought in the iOS or Android app are billed by Apple or Google Play. | Three Pinterest products (Pin Scheduling & Creation, Pinterest SEO, Pinterest Engagement) sold separately or as a Bundle, each priced per Pinterest account and billed monthly or annually. Annual prices are shown as a monthly equivalent and charged once a year upfront; the help center says annual billing saves up to 40%. Every plan includes a monthly credit allowance that pays for actions such as scheduling a Pin (1 credit); extra credits cost $10 per 100. Verified non-profits get 50% off any product. |

The verdict
Choose Planoly if Instagram is your main feed and Pinterest gets your best posts second. One Starter Social Set links up to one of each channel, Pinterest and Instagram included, for $14/month billed annually or $16 monthly. It also includes a Creator Store link-in-bio page that takes no cut of sales. Planoly's pages disagree on Starter's upload limit: 60 a month on the homepage, unlimited on the pricing page.
Choose Tailwind if Pinterest is your growth channel and you want what Planoly's help guide says it cannot do there, such as spreading one Pin across several boards, which Tailwind does with interval scheduling. Tailwind adds weekly SmartPin drafts and Ghostwriter titles and descriptions, and sells keyword research as the separate Pinterest SEO tool. You can start free with no credit card, through one-time trial actions, and paid plans are priced per Pinterest account.
Bottom line: Pick by your lead network. An Instagram-first creator who also pins gets both from Planoly for $14 a month on annual billing. A Pinterest-first creator gets far more Pinterest tooling from Tailwind, at $17.99 a month per Pinterest account on annual billing, but has to handle Instagram somewhere else.
