3.9
out of 5 · our rating

Pros

  • Fast setup — AI agents answer, capture caller data, and log to CRM with minimal configuration
  • Deep native integrations with 250+ tools including Salesforce, HubSpot and Zendesk
  • Reliable core telephony backed by 4.4/5 across 1,500+ G2 reviews
  • AI Voice Agent billed on usage, so low-volume teams avoid large upfront commitments

Cons

  • Conversational depth trails Voice AI specialists — best for scripted, predictable flows
  • AI is largely a paid add-on stacked on already per-seat pricing, inflating real cost
  • 3-license minimum makes the true entry price ~$90/mo, not the $30 headline
  • International call routes (notably Asia/Africa) can see latency, echo or drops at peak

Best for: Sales and support teams wanting AI to handle routine, structured calls, Existing Aircall/UCaaS users adding voice automation without switching vendors, Teams needing tight CRM logging (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk).

What is Aircall AI?

Aircall AI is less a standalone app than the intelligence layer bolted onto Aircall, the cloud phone system and contact centre platform the vendor says is trusted by 23,000+ companies. The homepage sorts the offering into three modes: team-led calling on a modern phone system, AI-assisted conversations where AI Assistants coach reps live, and AI-led coverage where autonomous agents handle interactions end to end.

Telephony comes in the box. Numbers across 100+ countries, IVR, call routing, a shared call inbox and softphones for desktop, Android and iOS all ship with the platform, so AI features drop into call flows you already operate. Aircall makes that a selling point, noting there is no SIP trunking and no separate providers to stitch together.

How AI Assist works around a live call

Aircall AI Assist product page showing real-time in-call guidance for sales and support reps

AI Assist is the Aircall conversation intelligence module, and its argument is timing. Before a call connects, Contact Insights surfaces contact history and Company Context tunes output to your business. During the call, live transcription, live prompts and playbooks keep reps on method, with Aircall listing BANT, SPICED, MEDDIC and PACTT alongside custom frameworks. Afterwards, custom call summaries, automatic tagging, call scoring and CRM updates generate without anyone typing notes.

All of that sits in the AI Assist Pro tier, which Aircall lists at $49 per user per month on top of any plan and which also includes custom scorecards with auto-assignment, automated CRM updates and follow-up emails, and Ask AI Assist. Aircall reports every call gets scored automatically, which is the shift for managers: coaching stops being a sampling exercise.

Round-the-clock coverage from AI Agents

Aircall AI Voice Agent page outlining inbound voice, outbound voice, SMS and WhatsApp automation

Aircall AI Agents are the autonomous half, spanning inbound voice, outbound voice, SMS and WhatsApp. They qualify leads, resolve routine queries and follow up unprompted. The vendor says agents read caller intent to route with full context, and can update the CRM, create tickets and book meetings during and after a call. Voices come in 23 languages with a choice of accents.

Aircall publishes customer figures: SJWD Water District handling 90% of after-hours calls automatically, and TripCity resolving 87% of calls without escalation. Deployment is pitched as self-service in minutes, with Forward Deployed Engineers for guided setup.

Integrations and daily productivity tooling

With 250+ integrations, Aircall connects to Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, Bullhorn, monday.com, Shopify, Pipedrive, Microsoft Teams and Intercom, with API access included from the entry plan and access to API developer support on the Custom plan. Conversation and customer data sync automatically rather than through manual logging.

The productivity set covers PowerDialer and Voicemail Drop on Professional, click-to-dial, IVR and call recording from Essentials, unlimited simultaneous outbound calls, and manual and automated queue callback, while warm and cold transfers arrive with the Aircall for Salesforce Voice add-on. Reporting runs from Basic Analytics on Essentials to Basic and Advanced Analytics plus live monitoring on Professional, with an Analytics+ add-on unlocking unlimited history, hourly call heatmaps and granular drilldowns and export.

Plan structure and data controls

Essentials covers the core phone system, integrations and API access. Professional layers on Salesforce CTI, mandatory call tagging, advanced analytics, smart routing and conversational intelligence. Custom targets larger deployments at a 25-licence minimum, adding custom onboarding, access to API developer support, a service-level agreement and single sign-on. AI capability is largely modular: AI Assist, AI Assist Pro, Analytics+, WhatsApp in Aircall and Salesforce Voice price as add-ons, while AI Voice Agent minutes run on a free monthly allowance, pay-as-you-go rates or prepaid bundles.

For regulated teams, an AI Without Recording mode runs summaries, scoring and playbooks from transcripts alone, and Transcription Redaction strips PCI, PII and PHI before storage. The platform carries SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA compliance, with transcripts and recordings stored in the EU.

Who should choose Aircall AI

Aircall AI suits small and mid-sized sales or support teams that want a working phone system and an AI layer from one vendor, especially those already living inside Salesforce, HubSpot or Zendesk. The non-technical setup is a real advantage for teams without telecom expertise, and modular add-ons let you start with calling and add intelligence later.

It is a weaker fit for solo operators and small teams, since paid plans carry a three-licence minimum, and for enterprises needing deep omnichannel routing across email and social alongside voice, where a full contact-centre suite goes further. Model the add-on costs carefully; a fully loaded stack runs well above the base licence.

Frequently asked questions

Is Aircall's AI included in the base price?

Only partly. Professional and Custom bundle AI Assist (transcription, summaries); on Essentials it costs $9/license/mo extra. The AI Voice Agent is separate and usage-priced after 50 free minutes per account each month.

What is the real minimum cost to start?

Every plan requires at least 3 licenses, so Essentials starts near $90/mo (annual) — not the $30 per-seat headline. AI Voice Agent minutes and other add-ons are billed on top.

Verdict

Aircall AI is a mature, reliable business-phone and contact-center platform that has layered competent AI voice agents and call intelligence on top of a proven telephony core. For teams already in its ecosystem, or those wanting AI to handle structured, high-volume calls with clean CRM logging, it delivers quickly and integrates broadly. As a pure Voice AI play, though, it trails specialists on conversational depth and open-ended dialogue, and its value is dented by a per-seat model with a 3-license minimum plus usage-priced AI add-ons that push real costs well above the headline. A solid, safe choice — not a category leader in voice automation.
