What it is
Tresorit is an end-to-end encrypted cloud storage and file-sharing service founded in 2011, headquartered in Switzerland with offices in Germany and Hungary, and part of Swiss Post’s digital business services. It has around 120 employees and says more than 11,000 organisations use it. The zero-knowledge design means Tresorit itself cannot see your files, and two-factor authentication and granular permissions are included on every plan.
Files are shared through encrypted links with tiered link security, and a free Gmail and Outlook plugin sends encrypted attachments even on the Basic plan. Business tiers add eSignatures, data rooms, audit logs, custom branding, data residency options, Single Sign-On and, on Business Pro, AzureAD and Okta provisioning, Active Directory and SIEM integration. Tresorit holds ISO 27001:2022 certification audited by TÜV Rheinland and signs HIPAA BAAs; its security page does not mention a SOC 2 report.

Basic is free with 3 GB, 500 MB per upload, two devices and 10 encrypted links a month, with no expiring trial and no card needed, though it is not intended for team or business use. Personal Lite is $4.75/mo yearly or $5.99/mo monthly for 50 GB on two devices with a 2 GB file limit. Personal Essential is $11.99/mo yearly or $13.99/mo monthly for 1 TB and 10 devices, and Personal Pro $27.49/mo yearly or $33.99/mo monthly for 4 TB.
On the business side, Professional is a single-user plan at $27.49/mo yearly, Business is $19/user/mo yearly with a minimum of 3 users, and Business Pro $24/user/mo yearly with a minimum of 5. Yearly billing is labelled 20% OFF. Any plan can be trialled for 14 days without limitations, but payment information is required during the trial.
