What is Microsoft Copilot Studio?
Microsoft Copilot Studio is a platform for building and managing AI agents. The product page frames it as a way to connect agents to your business data, create them with natural language, and publish them across the channels your teams and customers use. Microsoft calls it an end-to-end conversational AI platform where you design, test, and publish agents through natural language or a graphical interface.
It is also the successor to Power Virtual Agents, which the FAQ confirms is now folded into Copilot Studio alongside newer orchestration capabilities. Agents here range from simple systems that retrieve or summarize information to ones that take actions, automate workflows, and, as Microsoft describes them, operate independently while planning, learning, and escalating.
Building agents without deep code work

It is a weaker fit for small teams outside the Microsoft stack, or for anyone wanting flat per-seat voice pricing, since consumption billing rewards careful design and penalizes chatty agents; the pay-as-you-go route also requires an Azure subscription. The vendor reports that 90 percent of the Fortune 500 use Copilot Studio, which signals the enterprise center of gravity.
