What is Pramp?
Pramp built its reputation on a simple trade: you interview a peer, then that peer interviews you. As of July 2024 the vendor moved all new sessions to Exponent Practice, and pramp.com now carries a banner saying so while keeping its own explanation of the format. You and your peer interview each other for 30 to 45 minutes, in the browser, over HD video chat in a real-time collaborative environment.
Both participants receive the question, the answer, and specific interviewing tips, so whoever is playing interviewer is not improvising. Afterwards each of you writes feedback against a realistic rubric. Who should choose Pramp
Pramp suits candidates already in a live loop who know the material and need reps under pressure — engineers rehearsing algorithms out loud, product managers working a case, anyone whose bottleneck is nerves rather than knowledge. The free Basic tier is genuinely usable for that, and taking the interviewer seat is underrated preparation, because grading somebody else teaches you what graders actually notice.
It is a poor fit for beginners who have not yet learned the fundamentals, since peer feedback is only as sharp as the peer, and a partner who cannot solve the problem cannot explain why your approach was weak.
