What is Busuu?
Busuu is an online language learning platform covering 14 languages: English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Italian, Korean, Arabic, Russian, Turkish, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch and Polish. The homepage frames the pitch as learning languages for real life, and the product backs that up with expert-designed lessons plus a Community of fluent speakers who correct your work. The vendor reports more than 120 million registered users and over 2,500 hours of material spanning A1 through C1.
What separates Busuu from a pure flashcard drill app is the course spine. Lessons are bite-sized but sequenced, and the About page describes video bites featuring native speakers, checkpoint quizzes and AI-powered grammar training working as one system rather than as separate modes. It is a weaker fit if your target language sits outside the 14 on offer, or if you want scheduled one-to-one tutoring, since the human layer here is peer correction rather than booked lessons. Learners of the smaller catalogue languages should confirm which AI features are live before paying for Premium Plus.
