PrivadoVPN is run by Privado Networks ehf, an Icelandic company that moved its legal home from Zug, Switzerland, after Switzerland proposed surveillance reforms in March 2025. Paid plans list unlimited data, servers in cities, 10 connections, streaming support, an ad blocker, a zero-log policy, threat prevention and parental controls, and the pricing FAQ adds a SOCKS5 proxy and access to the full server list. An antivirus add-on at $1.99 a month can be toggled on the 12 and 24 month plans.
The free plan is the distinctive part. It gives 10 GB every 30 days on one device across a handful of locations, which the homepage counts as 13, and sign-up needs only a verified email address. Once the cap is reached the plan drops into Lite Mode at reduced speed; no speed figure is published. There are apps for Android TV, tvOS and Fire TV and extensions for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Brave, but no native Linux app, only manual OpenVPN.
What it costs in practice
The 24 month plan is $1.11 a month, badged “Save 90%”, and the 12 month plan is $1.33 a month, badged “Save 88%”; both card titles advertise three free months. The monthly plan is $10.99 and is labelled “No Savings”. The pricing page does not show the total billed up front, and the Terms say a subscription renews for the same billing period at the then-current price, so the headline rate is not guaranteed beyond the first term.
The 30-day money-back guarantee is narrower than the marketing page suggests. The Terms limit it to annual plans, once per user, and exclude monthly plans, renewals and purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play. On trust, there has been no public independent audit of the no-logs claim or server infrastructure, which sets PrivadoVPN apart from NordVPN, ExpressVPN and CyberGhost, all of which have published third-party audits.
