What is IdentityForce?

Sold by IdentityForce, Inc., this is a consumer identity theft protection service delivered through an online member account and a companion mobile app. The vendor describes the service as identity theft protection members can take anywhere, built around a snapshot view of critical alert notifications so fraud can be spotted quickly.

The brand sits inside a larger corporate family. A TransUnion newsroom release from October 2021 announced an agreement to acquire Sontiq, whose product brands were IdentityForce, Cyberscout and EZShield — moving the brand under TransUnion, whose credit data the release notes those products already used.

What IdentityForce monitors

IdentityForce publishes a compact summary of its coverage in its own app listing: depending on the plan a member selects, subscribers get Advanced Fraud Monitoring, 3-Bureau Credit Report Monitoring and access to identity restoration experts. That phrasing matters, because it confirms the service is tiered — monitoring breadth and the credit component are not uniform across every subscription. Day to day, the vendor frames the experience as interactive identity alerts supported by timely fraud news and tips, with critical notifications gathered into one view.

Credit monitoring and restoration support

The vendor names 3-Bureau Credit Report Monitoring as a plan-dependent capability, so report coverage at all three national bureaus is not part of every subscription. Restoration is presented as human help: IdentityForce cites identity restoration experts among what members reach. TransUnion, describing its separate TruEmpower restoration product, frames that work as consultative fraud remediation support for re-establishing an identity.

Mobile access and device security

The IdentityForce app is free to download but gated to active members, and the vendor states it carries no advertising or promotional material. The app itself supports two factor authentication and Touch ID. Beyond alerts, the listing points to comprehensive device scanning that includes an encrypted virtual private network, plus secure storage members can upload to and edit. Google Play data safety reporting adds that the app may collect personal information, may share personal and financial information with third parties, encrypts data in transit and lets members request data deletion.

The TransUnion and Sontiq connection

IdentityForce also powers products sold under other names. TransUnion markets a line called TruEmpower, and its identity protection and management pages are labeled as powered by IdentityForce; the identity monitoring page repeats that attribution and describes holistic monitoring of a consumer identity from a Social Security number through to online presence. Child identity monitoring, which watches for credit activity tied to a minor, is credited to IdentityForce there as well. Adjacent TruEmpower features carry other attributions — cyber protection to Cyberscout, the breach risk score to BreachIQ.

How we verified this review

A sourcing note, because it bounds what this review can claim. Every attempt to reach identityforce.com this session returned a Cloudflare block page, from a plain request and from a full browser alike; sontiq.com, which hosts the terms and privacy policy, was blocked the same way. We could not load the homepage, the pricing page or any product page.

Everything above comes instead from material the companies publish elsewhere: the vendor written app store listings and TransUnion corporate pages. Nothing was taken from third-party review sites.

Who should choose IdentityForce

The product fits a household that wants credit report monitoring across all three bureaus bundled with identity alerts and, above all, a specialist to call when something goes wrong; the emphasis on restoration experts points at buyers who value assisted recovery over self-service tooling. It is a weaker fit for anyone who expects to live inside the mobile app: the App Store listing averages 2.9 stars across 500 ratings, and the Google Play listing publishes no aggregate rating at all. Confirm current plan contents with IdentityForce directly, since we could not load its site.

Frequently asked questions

How much does IdentityForce cost?

Our most recent records show two individual plans, UltraSecure and UltraSecure+Credit; only the Credit tier adds 3-bureau credit monitoring and scores, and both include identity-theft insurance. The pricing table above lists the amounts we last recorded — we could not re-verify them, because identityforce.com blocked every request during our latest check, so confirm current rates and trial terms with the vendor before buying.

Is IdentityForce worth it?

It's worth it if you want hands-off, 3-bureau monitoring backed by a credit bureau. UltraSecure+Credit bundles a daily TransUnion score, dark-web and financial-account monitoring, and insurance-backed white-glove restoration. Skip it if you only need free credit freezes, or if you want a VPN and password manager bundled, where rivals like Aura include those for a similar price.

Is IdentityForce legit?

Yes. IdentityForce is a legitimate service owned by Sontiq, a TransUnion company since 2021, and has operated for over 40 years. It's used by government agencies and businesses, carries ID-theft insurance, and earns strong marks from reviewers such as Security.org (9.4/10) and U.S. News. It is not a scam.

IdentityForce vs Aura vs LifeLock, which is better?

All three offer 3-bureau monitoring and identity-theft insurance. IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit is TransUnion-backed with strong restoration. Aura adds a VPN, password manager and antivirus at a similar price, often winning value comparisons. LifeLock (Norton) has the biggest brand and higher insurance tiers but costs more at renewal. Aura is usually the best all-rounder.

Does IdentityForce have a free trial?

Our last recorded tiers included a 30-day free trial on the UltraSecure plan, letting you test dark-web monitoring, alerts and restoration support before paying. We could not re-verify this — identityforce.com was unreachable during our latest check, and third-party sites disagree with each other on current terms — so confirm the trial and current rates on the vendor's checkout before signing up.

Verdict

Buy IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit if you want set-and-forget 3-bureau monitoring backed by TransUnion, a daily credit score, and insurance-backed, hands-on U.S.-based restoration. Skip the base UltraSecure plan unless you genuinely don't need credit monitoring, and look elsewhere if you want a VPN and password manager bundled, where Aura delivers more for a similar price.
